Description
Description

The powerful body, versatility, agility, and independent nature make the Transylvanian Hound an excellent hunter. Its defensive and alert nature also makes it an excellent guard dog. The dog’s origins can be traced to Hungary and Romania. For this reason, it is sometimes called the Hungarian Hound or Transylvanian ScentHound. The strong medium-sized scent hound has a black body and may have tan and white markings on the chest or muzzle. There are two varieties: the long-legged and short-legged, though it is only the long-legged that currently exists. The head is long and pointed and lacks wrinkles, and the long ears hang close to the face with curves at the tip. The tail is slender, moderately long, and sometimes carried with a curve. It has a well-muscled, lean body and long straight legs.
