Bars, also known as pubs or taverns, are spaces where alcoholic drinks are legally served. Popularly defined by having a long high table for people to stand or sit at while drinking, bars have been an essential social setting across most civilizations throughout history. Serving a range of selected beers, spirits, wines, and meals, bars are spaces that pull people together after a long day of work, for meeting friends, or for celebrating an occasion. Bars have evolved to include complimentary functions to drinking such as bar games like darts, pool, beer pong and cornhole, to pub quizzes and karaoke.
