Dan Gable is an American former wrestler and coach, considered one of the greatest wrestlers of all-time. Dan Gable is also a 2-time NCAA Division I national champion and became an Olympic gold medalist at the 1972 Munich Summer Olympics. While in college he competed in Folkstyle Wrestling and also competed internationally in Freestyle Wrestling. After Wrestling professionally, he became a coach from 1967 to 1997 at the University of Iowa and was the head coach of 3 Olympic teams. During his coaching years he won 21 Big Ten Conference championships and 15 NCAA Division I titles. Dan Gable retired in 1997.
