Commuting is the act of regular and repetitive travel from home to a separate remote location for working or studying. Typically referring to the standard work week or repetitive bi-weekly or monthly events, commuting is most often undertaken by driving or taking public transportation such as trains, mass rapid transit, or buses. Commuting has become a shared common experience in adult life exacerbated by the problematic growth of suburban neighborhoods and the rising costs of housing in urban centers.
