The Alexandra Palm (Archontophoenix alexandrae) is endemic to Queensland, Australia. It is also called feather palm, king palm, or northern Bangalow palm, loved for its clean, visual appearance. The palm is tall, preferring to grow in solitary conditions and possess a swollen base. Its crown is usually graceful and has eight to ten pinnate and feather-like fronds that are dark green above but silver-grey underneath. The fruits are green when young but turn bright red as they ripen. It has a moderate growth rate, prefers acidic but well-drained soil, and subtropical or tropical climatic conditions.
