Description

A ballet duet is a ballet dance performed by two ballet dancers, typically a male and female (although not always). A ballet duet, or a pas de deux in French, is a dance that usually highlights feelings of partnership and affection between two dancers. A grand pas de deux is a formal duet that is formatted to have five different parts: an entrée, adagio, solos for each dancer, and a coda. A grand pas de deux is frequently performed by the ballet company’s principal dancers, the best male and female dancers in the company.
