The New Nintendo 3DS, the fourth system of the Nintendo 3DS family of handheld consoles, was released in September of 2015. Changes in design and new features included: colored face buttons, face recognition, additional control options, a screen size 1.2 times bigger than its predecessor, and an improved 3D image quality due to an added feature called “Super Stable 3D.” Production ended for the New Nintendo 3DS in July 2017 leading up to the release of the Nintendo 2DS XL.
