One of the major characteristics of the Braque Français Pyrenean is that they are always willing to please. It originated from France and is divided into two types: the larger Gascogne type and the smaller Pyrenean type. It is majorly a gun dog or a hunting dog and is well-proportioned and medium-size. The coat, too, is soft and short-haired, making it a natural retriever. Coat color can be chestnut brown mixed with white or tan markings. It has large flat ears and long, lean limbs while the tail is docked. The head is elegant, but the muzzle is relatively short.
