The Samsung Galaxy Tab S, is a member of the Galaxy Tab Series of tablets as the successor to the Galaxy Tab S, as the first model in Samsung’s “ultra high end” series of tablets and second model of Samsung’s 8.4 inch tablets. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S was introduced on July 12th 2014.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S was offered in two different screen sizes; a smaller 8.4 inch screen, designed to be a competitor to Apple’s iPad Mini 2, and a larger 10.5 inch screen option. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S is Samsung’s first cross between their Galaxy Tab devices and their Galaxy S devices, thus the naming convention: Galaxy Tab S.
