His notable works include A Brief History of Time, a commercially successful book in which Hawking discusses the origin of the Universe and Hawking Radiation, a theoretical argument he posed about black holes releasing a form of radiation. Aside from his scientific legacy, Hawking was known for his disability. He was diagnosed with a form of motor neuron disease which gradually paralyzed him over time.
