Known as a Rasta icon, Bob Marley’s career began in the early 1960s with his music group “Bob Marley and the Whalers”. In the early 1970s, the group hit the road on tour after landing a contract with Island Records. In his short lifetime, Bob Marley sold over 20 million records and became the first internationally famous musician to come from a 3rd world country.
Unfortunately, Bob Marley developed cancer in 1977 and died at the age of 36. He was buried in a Chapel in Jamaica with his guitar. His final words to his son were, “Money can’t buy life”. Bob Marley fused spirituality into his music and spoke of peace and oneness, inspiring generations to come long after his death.
