He is a member of the Conservative party and has served in a variety of cabinet positions under different governments, most infamously as the UK’s foreign secretary. Inheriting the role from Theresa May, he is now Prime Minister during the politically turbulent time of the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union (for which he led the campaign to Leave in 2016). He has suffered numerous defeats in parliament in his very short time of being Prime Minister and undergone a series of controversies and political blunders, including the very serious and very British problem of having lied to the Queen.
