He has appeared in a number of critically acclaimed films, including One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, LA Confidential, and Heist. He is also a producer and director, and has his own production company, Jersey films, which produced Pulp Fiction, Erin Brockovich, and Garden States, among others. He is married to Rhea Perlman, who he starred alongside in the film Matilda. They played Mr and Mrs Wormwood, Matilda’s parents.
