Elrond was the Lord of Rivendell, an elven kingdom below the misty mountains. Well respected throughout Middle Earth, Elrond was a member of the White Council and a good friend to Gandalf the Grey. He was crucial in the formation of the Fellowship of the Ring and the battle against Sauron. Elrond was a contemplative, intelligent and fierce leader. He was skilled in magic and could both summon floods and read the minds of others. He had the gift of foresight and could predict events happening far away from his kingdom. Elrond had many children, including Arwen who later married Aragorn, the King of Gondor.
