Ghostface is the primary villain of the Scream series of movies and television. However, Ghostface is not one person. While the costume remains the same, a white rubber mask stylized after Edvard Munch’s painting The Scream, a long black cloak with jagged edges, and a bloody eight inch hunting knife, the people using it to commit murder changes. Ghostface frequently calls his victims, sometimes using a voice changer to hide their identity, to taunt them and threaten them before murdering them. Ghostface is a human under the disguise, and yet, he displays supernatural abilities such as extreme durability to harm, superhuman strength, and an uncanny level of stealth.
