The Kudu is a two spiral-horned antelope species in the Bovidae family: the Greater Kudu and the Lesser Kudu. The Greater Kuku (Tragelaphus strepsiceros) is native within the Southern regions of Africa. Their colors differ between reddish-brown and blue-gray with 6-10 white vertical markings, a short spinal crest, a nose chevron, and thin cheek patches. Males only have corkscrew horns which take six years to fully grown and have a dark beard that grows with age. Some roles male Greater Kudu's have been forming and leading small herds and scouting for food. The Greater Kudu is the second tallest antelope, right behind the Common Eland.

The horns of a Greater Kudu are between 45”-55” (114.3-139.7 cm). Weights of Greater Kudu vary between males and females with males weighing between 419-595 lb (190-270 kg) and females from 265-463 lb (120-210 kg).
