C. S. Lewis, also known as Clive Staples Lewis, was a British author and theologian best known for his fictional stories including The Screwtape Letters, The Chronicles of Narnia, and Space Trilogy. C. S. Lewis attended University College, in Oxford, England. Throughout his lifetime, C. S. Lewis wrote more than 30 books that have been translated into various languages and sold millions of copies. His writing explored the genres of Christian apologetics, fantasy, science fiction, and children’s literature. In 1956, he won the Carnegie Medal in Literature for The Last Battle. C. S. Lewis died on November 23, 1963 at the age of 64.
