A Chestburster is an evolutionary stage of the Xenomorph, the extraterrestrial species found by the crew of the Nostromo in Ridley Scott’s Alien franchise. The Facehugger is contained in an Ovomorph until it senses a potential host nearby. It hatches and attaches itself to the host, implanting an organism which later bursts through the host’s chest, ripping them apart. The Chestburster typically grows to become an adult Xenomorph. Its development is then dependent on the host’s characteristics, but they usually have a muscular shell-like body, elongated domed heads and a long, curving tail.
Chestbursters have an upright height of 10” (25.4 cm) and an overall length of roughly 3’6” (106.7 cm).
