Originally from Hungry and bred as livestock guardians or as a royal guard dog, the Kuvasz sense of humor is clownish and is rarely interested in meaningless activities such as entertainment. It thrives on guarding valuables and can bark to alarm. The Kuvasz's rectangular body-line easily exposes its medium boned, well-muscled but less bulky body, elegantly proportional head, sturdy legs enabling it to swing, and the stiff, dense snow-white coat gives it a staggering white profile. The dog also has a black nose, almond-shaped eyes, is highly intelligent, and appreciates attention. The Kuvasz's ears do not erect and are folded forward. On alert, the tail plume snakes up.
Kuvaszs have a withers height between 26”-30” (66-76 cm) and a typical weight in the range of 70-110 lb (32-50 kg). The Kuvasz has an overall body length of roughly 41”-46” (104-117 cm), standing height between 30”-34” (76-86 cm), and a typical lifespan of 9-12 years.
