Charizard is the final evolution of Charmander with Charmeloen being the evolution between the two. Charizard resembles a large, orange dragon with a flame on his tail. Charizard has also played a prominent role in the anime series and Pokémon movies; throughout the anime, he is most commonly associated with Ash Ketchum, the series protagonist. Charizard has appeared in every Super Smash Bros. game, but did not become a playable character until the third game.
