Spike Jonze, born Adam Spiegel, is an American filmmaker, producer, and director. Jonze first got into the realm of media as a teenager photographing BMX riders and skateboarders. His involvement in the grunge scene led him to create Dirt magazine. After his ventures in print, Jonze began collaborating with musical artists on their music videos. Jonze then began his career in film making earning his keep as a director with Her, which won him an Academy Award, Golden Globe, and Writers Guild of America Award for Best Original Screenplay. Jonze was also the producer of the Jackass, reality T.V. show and currently works as the creative director for Vice Media.
