Net-Bearer Bond, known in Sanskrit as Jalandhara Bandha, is one of three bonds used in conjunction with breathing exercises or Pranayama. Net- Bearer bond can be considered a beginner bond, yet most Yogi’s do not get to the full extension of the posture until further in their practice.
To do Net-Bearer Bond, relax in an easy sitting pose, bring the shoulder blades together and lift the chest, keeping the ribs in. Next, bring the chin and lifted chest together. Be careful not to just lower the chin, it is meant to meet in the middle with the sternum, but do not force it. Once in position, breathe. There is a lot more than meets the eye in the “Bonds”, Yogi’s are encouraged to do further research before moving forward.
