Scale Pose is an intermediate arm balance that strengthens the wrist, arms, and core. Scale Pose has some preparatory posture that help warm the parts of the body up needed to successfully complete it such as Downward Facing Dog, Hero Pose and Eagle Pose. Some follow up postures to Scale Pose include Kukkutasana, or Cockerel Pose. Yogi’s with ankle, knee or hip issues use caution.
To do Scale Pose, begin in Lotus Pose, then push the hands into the mat and use the core muscles to lift the legs and entire body off the floor, hold for a few breaths and release.
