Root Bond, known in sanskrit as Mula Bandha, is one of three “bond” poses used in Yoga. Root Bond Pose is a beginner's posture and assists in meditation and breathing exercises because it helps to keep air in and not let air leak out during long breaths.
To do Root Bond Pose, sit in an easy sitting pose with the legs gently crossed at the ankles. Next, bring the hand to the knees, palms facing up and the pointer finger and thumb gently touching. There is a lot more than meets the eye in the “Bonds”, Yogi’s are encouraged to do further research before moving forward.
