To do Upward Facing Dog, begin by lying face down on the mat. Bring the tops of the feet to the mat and place the hands near the hips. Next, push through the hands and straighten the arms while lifting the hips and thighs off the floor, pushing through the tops of the feet and bringing the shoulder blades behind the heart, opening the chest.
