Faramir is a character in in J.R.R. Tolkien’s novel, Lord of the Rings. He is the son of the Steward of Gondor, and younger brother to famed warrior Boromir. After their mother died, the two brothers became very close despite being so different in personality. During the War of the Rings, Faramir leads the forces of Gondor against Mordor. He is badly wounded and comes close to death. After the battle, Faramir takes his father’s position as the Steward of Gondor, until Aragorn is crowned the rightful King. Faramir is a kind-hearted, gentle and thoughtful character.
