During the War of the Ring, her Uncle chose her to rule in his absence as she was respected and admired by the people of Rohan. She later rode out to fight alongside her Uncle disguised as a man. She killed the Witch King of Angmar in a brutal fight, revealing her true identity and fulfilling the thousands year old prophecy that the Witch King would not die ‘at the hands of a man’. After Sauron’s defeat, she married Faramir and had one son with him, Elboron.
