A descendant of Durin the Deathless, the father of the first house of dwarven people, Gimli came from long line of elite dwarven families. He was the only dwarf to join the Fellowship of the Ring and fought bravely alongside men, elves and hobbits. Gimli was typical dwarf in that he exhibited great strength and stamina. He was a good fighter and capable axe wielder. Although sometimes cantankerous, Gimli was a loyal and trustworthy character. After Sauron’s defeat Gimli became Lord of the Glittering Caves at Helm’s Deep.
