The Japanese Bobtail, a purebred cat hailing from Japan, is slender cat with a fluffy, bobbed tail bouncing on its behind. Playful and intelligent, the Japanese Bobtail is mischievous and talented at getting into places it should not. Due to its high intelligence, the Japanese Bobtail is also capable of learning tricks that usually only dogs learn.

The Japanese Bobtail is estimated to have been around since the sixth century as a seafaring cat during the times of the silk road. Revered and immortalized through silk screen paintings and woodcut prints, many legends surround the Japanese Bobtail, especially the tri-colored ones, called Mi-Ke, that were considered lucky.
