The Pixie-Bob, a cat wild in appearance, but tame in demeanor, is a laidback, friendly cat. Known for its lightly spotted and striped coat and bobbed tail, the Pixie-bob is an easily recognizable cat. The first Pixie-bob was born in 1986 to Carol Ann Brewer in Washington state as the result of a breeding between a classic, bobbed tail tabby and domestic cat. Obsessed with the wild appearance of her new cat, Pixie, Brewer wanted to spawn more wild-looking cats, thus beginning the intentional breeding of the Pixie-bob, named after her first kitten, Pixie.
Pixie-Bob Cats have an overall height of 9”-12” (23-30 cm), body length of 13”-17” (33-43 cm), and weight between 8-14 lb (3.6-6.4 kg). Pixie-Bob Cats have a typical lifespan between 12-16 years.
